Using Lean manufacturing concepts, Westeel analyzed their markets and developed a clear vision for the future of the Winnipeg operations, says Humphrey. Lean manufacturing principles and techniques were used assess flow and identify opportunities to reduce non value added activities, improve productivity and reduce manufacturing cycle time while at the same time enabling Westeel to meet the increasing demand for its products worldwide.
