Asked how CARTE is able to successfully compete against some of the largest companies in the world like General Electric and ABB, Klaponski credits working with the CME to give CARTE a Lean approach. This has helped CARTE produce significantly more product with roughly the same number of people without making any significant plant additions. "We've involved our employees and we have been able to better focus on productivity improvement and the elimination of waste. This has been a great part of the company's success".

Klaponski also believes that by having a stronger product focus and becoming LEAN, the company has been able to provide their clients with on time deliveries, a better product, and with excellent customer service. This kind of focus has helped CARTE be the best at what they do and differentiate themselves from their competitors.
